Classes will begin in Spring 2011 SHRM-Atlanta and UGA Terry College of Business announce the second HR Leadership Academy for 2011. The HR Leadership Academy is designed to enhance and grow the HR professional’s ability to be strategic business leaders and optimize talent to achieve their organization’s vision and goals. We have partnered to deliver a quality, sustainable program with top-notch curriculum and faculty to develop strategic business skills, knowledge and behaviors. UGA and SHRM-Atlanta are joining forces to bring high-quality executive education specifically designed for HR practitioners who need more business acumen. By offering this exceptional experience locally for metro-Atlanta, our vision is to educate rising HR stars with high-potential to become strategic business executives and we intend to accomplish this in a cost-effective, time-sensitive and convenient schedule. Limited to 40 participants, we expect these HR executives to be the future leaders of HR in the Atlanta community. By partnering with UGA Terry College of Business, SHRM-Atlanta has tapped into university accreditation and reputation, world-class faculty and facilities, nationally respected guest speakers, and the latest in learning technologies. SHRM-Atlanta brings HR senior executive input to the curriculum and the classroom. We have a wonderful mix of academic knowledge and executive experience teaching side-by-side. All attendees will experience a personal behavioral assessment and will receive feedback as part of their executive development process. The compiled assessments will provide input for faculty to tailor the program to meet the needs of this specific group of students. UGA Terry College of Business will supplement courses through online discussion boards, WebEx presentations, and virtual office hours with faculty.
Selection Criteria: The HR Leadership Academy will be open to participants who have a minimum of five years business and HR experience, proficiency in HR basics, and have demonstrated a propensity to excel in this field. SPHR certification is preferred. Participants will receive intensive and interactive training by the area’s best business and HR professionals, as well as executive coaches. Additionally, participants that successfully complete the Academy will become alumni of the program, will be invited to exclusive alumni events, and requested to contribute to its ongoing mission. Schedule: The HR Leadership Academy is scheduled for 10 full days of learning to be offered on a Friday/Saturday combination. Friday and Saturday Format This two-day scheduling combination allows the participant to really focus on the material and it demonstrates commitment by both participant and company, giving up one work day and one personal day for each two-day combo. With 3-4 weeks between classes, participants have time to delve into assignments and readings.
Registration: Regular price for the entire program is $4,900 which includes an annual SHRM-Atlanta membership. Companies who register 2 or more employees may receive 10% discount off the total registration fee. For the multiple registrant discount, contact SHRM-Atlanta at 404-442-7335 or email info@shrmatlanta.org The registration fee includes all meals, breaks, parking, materials, graduation ceremony and includes complimentary registration for a specified SHRM-Atlanta 2011 Chapter Meeting. A payment plan is available. One-third of the fee must be paid before the first class. No attendee will graduate or receive certificates or CEUs unless paid-in-full prior to end of program.
Curriculum: Each learning session will contain an Action Plan with homework assignments. Throughout the curriculum, a Simulation software program will be utilized for participants to apply the new knowledge to a simulated company. All instruction will be a combination of hands-on application and theory taught by both academics and HR professionals.
