PEG Workshops

Professional Emphasis Group (PEG) workshops are meetings held before each Chapter Meeting with the purpose of discussing various areas of specialty in and around HR.  These workshops are offered to our members free of charge and we have recently moved them to larger rooms to accommodate the attendance which can reach up to 100 people.

This year we will be rotating PEG workshops so we will offer a larger variety of topics throughout the year.  Below is the current listing of PEG workshops for each Chapter Meeting.

Training & OD PEG Overview
The purpose of the Organizational Development (OD) and Training Professional Emphasis Group is to serve the business needs of HR professionals with OD, Leadership Development or Training responsibilities, helping them to thrive in their business, consulting firm or company by providing education, business resources and networking opportunities. The OD/Training PEG meetings are a great way to cultivate discussion and sharing of ideas and resources amongst likeminded members. The goal at each PEG meeting is to:

  • Provide an environment for meaningful professional development for HR leaders.
  • Develop HR competencies that are important to our participating members.
  • Provide networking opportunities while learning new and innovative concepts from other organizations and individuals for exceptional practices.

Legislative PEG Overview
Recruitment and HR professionals at all levels will find the speakers and ensuing discussions valuable.The Legislative Affairs Professional Emphasis Group is a forum to discuss the latest trends and topics in legislative affairs arena.  It is important for human resource professionals to get the most up-to-date information as we address the issues that could substantially change the way you do your job.  The goal at each Legislative Affairs PEG meeting is to:

  • Educate our members on the current legislative actions affecting the workplace.
  • Provide an open forum to discuss legislative affairs topics with employment law and legislative professionals.
  • Provide state and federal employment law information that will enhance compliance in the workplace.
  • Provide an environment for our members to network and engage with human resource professionals and others passionate about influencing and implementing the legislative changes that affect the workforce.

Recruiting Practices PEG Overview
The Recruiting Practices Professional Emphasis Group is a forum to discuss the latest trends and topics in recruiting; all centered around ethical and compliance oriented recruiting practices. The goal at each Recruiting Practices PEG meeting is to examine, discuss and generate solutions for challenges facing corporate recruiting and staffing professionals. Past discussion topics have included vendor selection, social networking and succession planning.

Employee Relations PEG Overview
From union free environments to progressive employee engagement, the Employee Relations Professional Emphasis Group focuses on key employee concerns in the work place. Our goal for the Employee Relations team is to help employers create win / win environments where not only long term retention occurs, but also company growth. Please join us in lively presentations and a full range of topics on employee concerns.

Total Rewards PEG Overview
The purpose of the Total Rewards Professional Emphasis Group is to serve the needs of HR professionals as we strive to develop and implement systems that provide effective compensation and developmental reward initiatives for employees who achieve specific business goals.  The goal of each session will be to discuss one of the critical components of building a total rewards initiative in today’s real world business environment.

Global PEG Overview
The Global Human Professional Emphasis Group is a forum to discuss international HR issues that would apply to HR professionals that work in corporations that engage in international business. This forum addresses all aspects of global HR issues that influence international markets.
