Detecting Deception for HR Professionals: How to Avoid Abuse of FMLA and ADA
Employee Relations Content Area
In today's job market with tough competition to stand out and look good, it is no wonder that potential job candidates may sometimes resort to lying on their resumes or embellish past work-related behavior. In this session, participants will be provided with a methodology, as well as a valuable set of behavioral assessment skills that can assist HR professionals on what to look for during the interview process while also increasing their level of confidence for evaluating the veracity of information being provided by the prospective job candidate. Research on verbal and nonverbal indicators of deception will be outlined and what to look for in order to maximize the information gathered when conducting interviews will be discussed.
