While stress is widely understood to be a significant factor in the increased costs of healthcare for organizations, many employers still overlook the mental, psychological and spiritual well-being of their employees. The most robust employee wellness programs target not only the body, but the mind. Stress and anxiety are often the cause of physical illnesses, increased absenteeism, reduced moral, increased staff turnover and lost productivity—which cost businesses billions of dollars every year! This presentation focuses on practical steps employers can take to reduce stress in the lives of employees. Though often taboo in the workplace, the role of spirituality in dealing with stress will also be discussed. Organizational leaders and HR professionals will leave this presentation with the knowledge and hands-on tools to confront stress and increase productivity within the organization.

Prior to Apollo Healthcare, Jack served as COO of an Atlanta employee benefits firm where he oversaw Finance, Communications, Operations and all HR functions and worked to implement wellness programming both internally and for clients. Jack has been active in SHRM-Atlanta since 2005 and has served in various capacities and is currently the EVP of Programs. He is a recipient of the 2011 & 2013 SHRM-Atlanta Presidential Volunteer Leadership Award. He holds a Georgia Life and Health License and SPHR certification. Jack authors the Raving Wellness blog where he shares insights on employee wellness and Consumer Driven Healthcare.
