This will be a presentation regarding the Title VII obligation to provide reasonable religious accommodations. What constitutes a religious accommodation? How does the obligation differ from the duty to accommodate disabilities? Is the duty to accommodate different is a unionized setting versus non-bargained? What is the penalty for failing to accommodate?
Speaker: Sheldon W. Snipe, General Attorney - Labor & Employment, AT&T Legal Department
Sheldon Snipe has twenty years representing management in employment and labor matters. He regularly manages and serves as lead counsel in employment litigation, labor arbitrations, and administrative agency proceedings in nine Southeastern states. He provides daily advice and assistance to Business Units and Human Resources in formulation and administration of employment policy. Sheldon participates in preventative EEO counseling and training of managers and employees at all levels. He supports a team of EEO and EH&S consultants in the handling of administrative charges and investigations by EEOC, NLRB, DOL, OSHA and state labor/employment agencies.
