Multinational companies do not become global companies by simply offering their products and services to customers in multiple countries. Nor do they become truly global organizations, because they have physical locations and employees throughout the world. It is nearly impossible (and not advised) for organizations to attempt to have globally standardized general HR policies due to the necessity to comply with local laws and regulations.
However, the one area of HR where global integration has become essential is Talent Management. In order to create highly efficient and competitive global organizations, it has become necessary to integrating talent management strategies, programs and processes globally. This integration truly differentiates companies from their competitors and can greatly benefit both recruitment and retention. Taking advantage of global talent pools, developing culturally attuned global leaders and retaining high potentials by increasing career opportunities globally will greatly impact companies' ability to truly win the war on talent in our changing workforce. Ultimately positioning the company to increase their global market share and out perform their competition as we enter into an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
Speaker: Dionna Keels, GPHR, Director, N2 Publishing
Dionna Smith Keels, GPHR is Director at N2 Publishing. She also serves on the Board of Advisors at Authentity, an innovative employee engagement solution provider that utilizes the concept of crowdsourcing and social responsibility to improve employee engagement and collaboration among colleagues and project teams. Prior to joining N2, Dionna led Global Talent Management & Acquisition at AGCO, a fortune 300 manufacturing company headquartered in metro Atlanta. In this role she led the global integration of talent strategies, processes and programs in North America, South America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. This encompassed AGCO’s 22,000 employees across 120 countries.
Dionna is a sought after speaker/writer and has contributed to several media outlets, in print and on-air, including Forbes, INC, Entrepreneur, CNN Money, NPR and the AJC. Dionna earned her GPHR from HRCI and recently completed her 3 year term on SHRM’s National 12 person Staffing Management Expert Panel. Dionna attended Howard University where she studied communications and graduated from Tulane University with a BA in Media Arts.
