Organization Content Area
The importance of clear and concise communication is first addressed in this seminar, followed by the five (5) types of listening (non-verbal, verbal, active, technological, and word usage). Specific examples and case studies are offered for each of the five types of listening, articulating the success and failure of non-verbal communication, verbal miscommunication, active listening skills, dangers of technological speech (jargon--it's not just for IT people), and word usage. For instance, specific words and what to say to replace cliché or negative vernacular are shared. The conclusion is how to recognize and read others' communication and ensure you are sending the message you intended. Role plays are conducted when time allows.
1. How communication began and develops.
2. How to communicate effectively.
3. How to recognize others' communication styles to ensure better communication.
