We will examine and discuss the critical action items plan sponsors and administrators must address for the balance of this year as well as items to consider during strategic planning for 2017 and beyond. We will focus on specific documentation and reporting requirements, including best practice pointers, as well as on specific deadlines plan sponsors must keep in mind. Finally, we will highlight how the current political and legal landscape might impact plan sponsors in the coming years.

Carlton Pilger is an ERISA and employee benefits compliance attorney with more than 20 years’ experience representing clients of all sizes and across a wide array of industry sectors. Carl is a subject matter expert in employee benefits and Health Care Reform compliance and has been a featured speaker throughout the country on these topics. Additionally, Carl has represented numerous clients in DOL and IRS audits and has spearheaded ERISA and ACA compliance initiatives both as a trusted counselor with three prominent Atlanta law firms and for the past four years as in-house compliance director for leading insurance brokerage and consulting firms. Pilger earned a B.S. in journalism and a J.D. from Northwestern University.
