For others, it is viewed as an administrative exercise and it’s a constant struggle to gain commitment from the top. HR plays a critical role in developing the succession management plan and often leads this strategic initiative of identifying talent gaps, selecting and developing talent, or leading the search to find and groom external talent. Knowing where to start and how to sustain succession management for your organization is important and very valuable to your success as a strategic HR partner.

Steve Coco is responsible for selling and delivering people, process and intelligence engagements for Buck Consultants. He leads the Talent Management group delivering HR transformation, talent strategy execution, BPO, workforce planning and change initiatives. Steve joined Buck Consultants in 2011. He developed an HR Roadmap framework that defines an HR organizations maturity across multiple attributes and links the tactical, phased work HR does at a desk level to HR Strategies and Corporate Business Direction/Imperatives. Steve’s clients include AT&T Wireless, Nextel, Department of Defense, Wells Fargo, and Pfizer. He received his B.A. degree in Economics from Bates College.
Cindy Baerman is responsible for human resources, compensation, benefits, labor relations and communication at Graphic Packaging International, Inc. She joined Graphic Packaging from JohnsonDiversey, a global leader in sanitation products and services, where she led the North American HR function and served as Vice President and General Manager of the Food and Beverage division. Ms. Baerman has held leadership positions at Kraft Foods, Miller Brewing Company, Anheuser-Busch, and Barilla.
Erin Hand is the Vice President of Talent and Development at Cox Communications. In her current role, Ms. Hand oversees the activities related to organizational and leadership development for the company, including executive and management development and the national curriculum design and e-learning solutions for Cox University. Hand graduated from Creighton University with a B.S. in Psychology. She also holds a M.S. Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Georgia.
Sally Hacskaylo joined Invesco, Inc. in April, 2011 as head of human resources for corporate administration. She leads a global team of human resources business partners in providing proactive support to the investment support functions across the world. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Invesco operates in 20 countries and is a leading global investment management company dedicated to helping people worldwide build their financial security. Previously, Ms. Hacskaylo had a successful 25-year career with SunTrust Banks, Inc., also headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, as senior vice president and senior human resources business partner where she provided comprehensive strategic HR consulting to executive managers.
Angela McGlamery provides strategic leadership and support for the delivery of HR plans and strategies to all InterContinental Hotels Group brands and geographies in the Americas Region. Prior to joining IHG in 2007, she worked for Ritz-Carlton Hotels for eight years as Vice President, Human Resources Operations and Services where she was responsible for developing the HR strategy for the global portfolio. While at Ritz- Carlton, she was instrumental in creating the company’s service values and employee engagement strategy. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and holds several professional certifications, including Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
