This year we have divided our sessions into the following eight content areas.  We will feature sessions within these areas throughout the two day conference.

The conference has been pre-approved for 10 general credits and 7 business management and strategy credits.

Business Acumen
These sessions build the general business knowledge, judgment and awareness of HR practitioners ranging from the specialist/generalist to the mid-level manager to the seasoned leader. Specialist/generalist and mid-level professionals can develop and enhance their fundamental business literacy. Seasoned leaders can improve their decision making skills with the basis being a solid business knowledge foundation. HR professionals can also learn how their actions and decisions affect outcomes at the functional, unit, or organizational level.

Diversity & Inclusion
These sessions will focus on the qualities, experiences and work styles that make individuals unique – such as age, race, religion, disability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, and sexual orientation and how organizations can realize the benefits of leveraging those qualities in support of business objectives.

Employee Relations
This content area covers topics that contribute to the development and maintenance of a productive work environment. While employee relations can and does include the union-focused “industrial relations,” it is a broader content area applicable to both union and non-union environments. The National Labor Relations Act has components that apply to both union and non-union employers. The topics in this content area help employers create positive relationships that foster employee motivation and contribute to organizational success.

These sessions focus on the broad spectrum of implementing employee wellness, encompassing the physical, emotional and spiritual health of employees.

Global
These sessions focus on human resource related activities with global reach. Topics may range from the challenges of leading global teams, cultural competency, to a look at labor law around the world, to the movement and management of a global workforce.

Law & Legislation
In an ever changing legislative environment, HR professionals must understand critical legal issues that affect day-to-day business decisions. These sessions will highlight policies and practices which focus on key employment law issues that affect the way HR professionals conduct business. Updates may also be included on new legislative laws or actions impacting the work environment.

These sessions will help you maximize your effectiveness in talent management including areas ranging from recruiting, educating, coaching, development, and succession planning.

Total Rewards
These sessions will focus on the broad span of topics ranging from the basics to leading edge topics in compensation, benefits and total rewards. Total rewards include anything the employee perceives to be of value resulting from the employment relationship.
