VETs Initiative: Hire-A-Veteran
Share |

One of SHRM-Atlanta’s major goals for our VETs initiative is for companies to hire 1,000 veterans in 2012 as a direct result of our efforts and the efforts of our member’s companies and organizations. As part of this initiative we are measuring our success and documenting better practices to share with SHRM-Atlanta members, SHRM National and interested stakeholders.  PLEASE take five minutes to provide us with information that will help more veterans return to work!

Help SHRM-Atlanta track how many U.S. military veterans have been hired by our chapter during 2012.  Please include full-time, part-time, temporary, paid or unpaid internships where the person hired has served in any branch of the U.S. military service, including reserves. The job may be located anywhere, not restricted to metro-Atlanta.

This form MUST be completed by a currently active member of SHRM-Atlanta who works at the hiring company or for the hiring company as a recruiting/staffing agent.  You must log into your SHRM-Atlanta profile to complete this tracking form. Any changes made to your information in this form will be written back to your SHRM-Atlanta account.

10 Steps to Becoming a Military-Ready Employer:  This toolkit guides HR professionals and business leaders in how to effectively source, assimilate and support all military-connected talent (veterans, guard, reservists and their supporting family members) in the workplace.  It also describes how to assess an organization’s culture and resources related to military-connected employees, and how to develop initiatives that will best fulfill the organization’s needs.
