Barbara is the Vice President of Human Resources & People Services at  NASCO, LLC. The organization was recently recognized as a top place to work in Atlanta, finishing #9 in the mid-size category at the AJC's 2019 Top Workplaces event.

Atlanta Braves hire Deretta Cole Rhodes as SVP of HR

Congrats to SHRM-Atlanta Board Member Deretta Cole Rhodes who has been hired by the Atlanta Braves as  their new Senior Vice President of Human Resources. 

Deretta brings with her over 20 years of diverse experience at several Atlanta-based companies, most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta.

David Hughes joins OneDigital Health and Benefits as Practice Leader for HR Consulting

Congrats to David Hughes who has joined OneDigital Health and Benefits as Practice Leader for HR Consulting to their clients in Georgia.

David was previously VP Human Resources at an Atlanta-based 500+ employee, $400M insurance broker for 14 years, and earlier served as Managing Director with a retained executive search firm in Boston.

Noelle Holdsworth awarded Clemson Roaring 10 Award & selected to serve on the Talent Brand Alliance Board

Noelle HoldsworthCongrats to Noelle Holdsworth who was recently awarded the Roaring 10 Award from the Clemson Young Alumni Council that annually recognizes ten outstanding individuals for their impact in business, leadership, community, educational and/or philanthropic endeavors. The honor is given to those individuals who exemplify Clemson University’s core values of honesty, integrity, and respect. 

 In addition, Noelle was also recently selected to serve on the Talent Brand Alliance Board.  Awesome job, Noelle!

Karen Geney appointed as Interim CEO of Hemophilia of Georgia

Lisa Hughes, Past SHRM-Atlanta President, promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Tommy Nobis Center

Lisa Hughes, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, GPHR, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tommy Nobis Center, a non-profit headquartered in Marietta that empowers individuals with all types of disabilities through employment.  As Chief Operating Officer, she leads the Rehabilitation Department, Production & Fulfillment Department, Human Resources and Nobis Enterprises, TNC’s government contracting team. Lisa promotes alignment around Tommy Nobis Center’s organizational strategy, programs and business operations. 

 

It’s not about moving away from H.R., which she isn’t.  It’s about using H.R.’s business acumen competency to have expanded influence and promote greater strategic alignment throughout the organization.  Lisa says, “Tommy Nobis Center has a strong focus on our mission and our people.  These themes flow through to everything we do.”  Lisa encourages her H.R. peers to be willing to take on new responsibilities and see where your journey takes you!

Lisa has been a SHRM-Atlanta member for many years and served as the 2016 – 2017 SHRM-Atlanta President.
