Akilah Charlemagne is an influential Human Resources Business Partner and Relationship Builder with 19 years of experience working with Technology, Higher Education, Healthcare and Non-Profit organizations. She helps companies deliver exceptional results in Recruitment, Talent Development, Employee Engagement and Client Satisfaction. Akilah’s passion and purpose is to create remarkable experiences where professionals feel safe, energized and empowered to take risks and propel their careers! She serves as a Senior HR Business Partner with Cox Communications and is the Founder of Career Lemonade.
Akilah experienced a period of career transition – during this time she learned the importance of continuous learning, personal branding & authentically connecting with others to build meaningful relationships. What excites Akilah about working with professionals looking to make a shift is the opportunity to share Career Strategies that will have a positive impact on their lives.
She earned her BA in International Relations with a minor in Spanish from Mount Holyoke College. Akilah serves as the EVP of Workforce Readiness and Community Volunteerism for SHRM-Atlanta and is the Co-Founder of ATL HR CREW.
Akilah was born in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, grew up in New York City and has lived in Atlanta (off and on) since 2001. She enjoys traveling with her family and friends and is the reigning UNO champion in the Charlemagne home. Can’t make it? Can someone else from your office attend in your place? Substitutions are allowed; however, the non-member rate may apply. To transfer your registration please submit your request via email to info@SHRMAtlanta.org.
Would you like to transfer an upcoming registration from one event to another? Requests for transfers must be made by the event cancellation date, usually seven days prior to the event.
Cancellations must be made by the cancellation deadline for the specific event, usually seven days prior for most events. All cancellations are subject to a minimum $20 administration fee. Some events may have a higher fee, please refer to the individual event page, or to your confirmation email. Cancellations/No-Shows on the date of the event forfeit the entire registration fee. No refunds or transfer of fees will be made after the date of the event.
