Your Emotional IQ

To become an effective and dynamic leader, it is critical that an individual learn to raise their Emotional IQ or “EQ”. “Emotional Intelligence is the ability to sense, understand, and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions as a source human energy, information, connection and influence.” (Robert Cooper.)

Allan Kennedy’s presentation will demonstrate how a leader can utilize their own emotions to connect and lead an organization. By connecting the head and the heart, a leader can more fully understand what motivates and retains associates. Kennedy will show how the development of an intuitive skillset aids a leader in not only understanding his or her team, but also how the power of emotion transforms teams. Kennedy will share real life examples of how understanding our own as well as others’ emotions can impact us professionally and personally.

Learning Objectives:

  • What is Emotional Intelligence?
  • How emotions can play an integral part in connecting and leading an organization
  • Understand what motivates associates and how to retain them
  • The professional and personal impact of understanding your own and others’ emotions
