National Award for Workplace Effectiveness Given to Georgia Employers
SHRM-Atlanta to present When Work Works Awards at their “Leadership at All Levels” Symposium 2017

Atlanta, GA (July 17, 2017) – SHRM-Atlanta, the premier HR association in Atlanta, is thrilled to serve as the official host of the 2017 When Work Works Award in Georgia. The prestigious award is part of the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM’s) When Work Works project, a national initiative that helps employers become more successful by transforming the way they view and adopt effective and flexible workplaces. Winners of the When Work Works Award will be recognized at SHRM-Atlanta’s 2017 “Leadership at All Levels” Symposium, to be held on August 22, 2017 at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia.

The Georgia recipients of the 2017 When Work Works Award are:

BDO USA, LLP - Atlanta, GA
CBIZ Retirement Plan Services - Woodstock, GA
Corps Team - Marietta, GA
NASCO - Atlanta, GA
Ryan, LLC - Atlanta, GA
Sability - Atlanta, GA

The award is earned after a rigorous assessment that emphasizes the real-life experiences of employees and incorporates national benchmarks of employer practices from the National Study of Employers and the employee experiences from the National Study of the Changing Workforce. Two-thirds of an organization’s winning score is based on a survey of its employees.

Applicants are scored on six research-based ingredients of an effective workplace: opportunities for learning; a culture of trust; work-life fit; supervisor support for work success; autonomy; and satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities for advancement — all factors associated with employee health, well-being and engagement.

“It’s a privilege to take part in honoring these exemplary employers who have taken progressive steps to champion workplace flexibility. Part of SHRM-Atlanta’s mission includes celebrating excellence in HR and promoting thought leadership, and we are pleased to promote these companies who have improved employee well-being and work-life balance,” said Susan Whorton, SHRM-Atlanta When Work Works Committee Chair.

“Congratulations to the Georgia winners of the When Work Works Award,” said Ellen Galinsky, president of the Families and Work Institute, originator of the award, and senior research advisor for SHRM. “These are model employers whose practices not only yield positive business results but also allow employees to thrive.”

Recipients will be recognized at SHRM-Atlanta’s “Leadership at All Levels” Symposium, a one day event is designed to help attendees take their career to the next level with 16 insightful sessions spanning four engaging tracks, two exciting keynote presentations by Equifax CHRO and SHRM Board Chair Coretha Rushing and Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Chief Economist Tom Cunningham, dynamic networking opportunities, a Resource Partner Showcase and more.
