Lisa Goodman Hughes,Vice President of Human Resources, joined Nobis Works, Inc. in March 2014. Serving businesses throughout Metro Atlanta and 16 states, Nobis Works helps individuals with disabilities enter or return to employment, and to enjoy productive and independent lifestyles while contributing to the greater business community.  With a goal of providing professional HR leadership to all in the organization, Lisa oversees Nobis Works’ HR strategy.  She is a member of the executive management team working with the Board of Directors.  She desires to positively impact the strategic goals and business success of Nobis Works and to demonstrate the value of the HR function by interacting with employees at all levels throughout the organization.  Lisa is a progressive, senior-level HR professional with 20 years comprehensive HR experience, including organizational design and effectiveness, talent acquisition and management, cultural modification efforts, M&A assimilation, location start-up/closure, compensation and benefits, employee relations, recruitment, legal compliance, payroll, and other related areas. Lisa received her B.S. in Management from The Georgia Institute of Technology with certificates in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Economics. She received her M.S. in Personnel and Employment Relations from Georgia State University. She obtained PHR designation in 1996; SPHR designation in 2003 and GPHR in 2005. Lisa is an Instructor in the College of Professional & Continuing Education at Kennesaw State University teaching in the Human Resource Certification program.

Christine C. Browning, PHR | Year Up

 President Elect

Christine Browning serves as partner development manager for the Atlanta office of Year Up, a national non-profit workforce development program for urban young adults.  Year Up’s mission is to close the opportunity divide by providing high school graduates ages 18-24 with the skills, experiences and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. Christine is responsible for establishing new partner relationships, as well as growing current partnerships. Christine has over 17 years’ experience in partner relations in various disciplines, including marketing, advertising, talent management and the non-profit sector.  Christine works closely with partner organizations to find solutions that add overall value to the organization and its workforce.    Christine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management from the University of South Carolina and has received her Professional in Human Resources certification.  She is a graduate of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Leadership North Fulton Class of 2012. Christine has served as ambassador and vice president of GEMs with SHRM-Atlanta. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Chapter of NAAAHR and was vice president of fundraising for three years.

Barbara Bell-Dees, SHRM-SCP, PHR | NASCO

Barbara Bell-Dees is the Vice President of Human Resources & People Services at NASCO. Barbara is charged with formulating the company's strategy for ongoing integrated talent management. She is focusing on developing NASCO's major competitive differentiator - its people.  She has over thirty years of experience in HR management and administration.  Barbara has been with NASCO for nine years and has overseen the company's exponential growth from 239 to 700 associates.  She attended DeKalb Community College in Clarkston, GA and has earned her PHR as well as her SHRM-CP designations. Barbara has chaired the When Work Works initiative for SHRM-Atlanta for the past 2 years.  Through her efforts and dedication, NASCO was named as a local winner of the When Work Works award recognizing exemplary employers for creating effective workplaces to increase business and employee success in both 2014 and 2016.

Karen R. Hilton, the founder of T.A.P. Executive Coaching, is a certified professional coach, experienced business leader, speaker and HR consultant.  Prior to her current role, Karen held management and leadership positions with some of the world's best companies, in technology, media, automotive, finance and retail environments. Karen holds a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology/Cultural Diversity. Karen, a long time contributor to SHRM-Atlanta will be leading a new effort for us centered upon our Volunteer Leadership Team. In this role, Karen will lead our focus on developing the volunteer leadership team structure (from entry level volunteer roles to the initiative chairs to the chapter presidency), succession planning defining volunteer "career" paths and help us offer greater professional development initiatives specifically for volunteers.  

Dwight Thompson, SHRM-SCP, SPHR | AT&T HR Services and Solutions

Dwight has over 35 years' experience in the HR Profession. His breadth of knowledge encompasses Employee Relations, Training & Development, EEO, Compensation, Benefits, and more. In his current role, Dwight directs a team of Employee Relations Managers for AT&T HR Services and Solutions supporting nearly 22,000 of the AT&T Mobility employees. Dwight has his undergraduate degree from Boston College and graduate degrees from University of Georgia and University of Toledo. Having been a key player in SHRM-Atlanta's Geographical Emphasis Meetings (GEMs), Dwight will be growing within the chapter and assuming the role of EVP, Professional Development (formerly Programming). This area defines and delivers overall professionals development that serves our members' needs.

Mark is Principal at ECC, Inc. and chief curator of www.WhatAreYourGifts.com, independent business owner and a GALLUP / CliftonStrengths & TotalSDI-Certified conflict resolution coach. He helps individuals and teams identify, understand, and leverage their strengths, discover how they can maximize performance and personal contentment, and "How to have a nice conflict." In 2016 he wrote "Wantrepreneuer: Do You Have What It Takes to be an Entrepreneur" with the intent to educate a would-be entrepreneur about going down that road. Throughout his business career, which began in 1983 and where he spent 24+ years within Fortune 500 companies, he has always loved being an advisor, catalyst, coach, connector, influencer, pioneer, stimulator and teacher. One of his favorite philosophies is around the concept of karma. Sowing positive seeds will, over time, produce positive outcomes as evidenced by his frequent appearance for career-focused webinars created especially for Emory alumni by the EAA. He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University, an MBA from Emory's Goizueta School of Business, his Certified Professional in Learning & Performance from the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
